Astoria Travel is a family run business that started as an office serving Ferry boats to and from the mainland Greece. To this day, the business still runs the business, evolving year by year and adopting to the new needs of Patmos visitors.

TIMELINE

1952  ASTORIA SHIPPING was established and represented the ferryboats in and out of Patmos.

1970  Our first tourist bus was acquired, opening the market for cruise ships arrivals, in order to deliver tours and excursions on Patmos

1978  Change of guard. Minas Kamaratos took over the business, on a turning point for Greek tourism, and the office was handling 5x more cruise ship visitors.

1986  John Kamaratos after the passing of his father takes over the business and runs it till this day. By adopting to the changes of the new ear of tourism, diversifies the business, covering most of the visitors need, and currently holds an impressing 85% market share, of all organized tourism in Patmos.

2015  Astoria expands the business even more, by handling and catering private yachts and boats, that approach Patmos port and marina.

2018  A strong partnership has established with a AVIS/BUDGET, making Astoria the central office on Patmos.
